Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha airport to Moshi
Upon arrival at Arusha airport, your tour driver will welcome you and drive you to your accommodation in Moshi, a town near the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro where most travelers set off from to go to the respective gates of the routes they are to use. Check in, have dinner and then get enough sleep.
Day 2-7: Mt. Kilimanjaro Climbing
Spend the next 6 days on your climb to the top of Africa at Uhuru peak (5,895 m). Kilimanjaro can be a challenging climb, but the challenge is what makes the journey to the top worth it.
Take it slow and be aware of your surroundings, enjoy the scenic views, the different climatic zones and rare mountain vegetation. Capture moments on your camera.
Different routes lead you the summit of Kilimanjaro. It is always best to choose a route of your preference depending on your capabilities and this will give you a better chance of reaching the summit.
For the 6 days, we recommend Marangu or Machame route. But incase you have extra time; you can make it a 7 days climb.
On day 7 when you descend back to the base at Mweka gate, your tour driver will be waiting to drive you to Arusha where you will spend the night.
Day 8: Flight to Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Have a relaxed and leisure morning at your hotel, reminiscing about your just concluded accomplishment as you enjoy your breakfast. Later in the afternoon, your tour driver will drive you to Arusha airport for your flight to Kigali.
On arrival, you will be welcomed by your Rwandese tour driver who will drive you to your accommodation facility near Volcanoes national park for an overnight.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Early morning, your driver will take you to Kinigi park offices where you will have a briefing before you enter Volcanoes Forest in search of the mountain gorillas. Depending on the movements of the gorillas, the trek to met the gorilla family might take you up to 7 hours.
Spend an hour in close proximity with the great apes there after walk back to Kinigi. You maybe lucky and come across some golden monkeys who also inhabit the bamboo forests of the Volcanoes National Park.
Drive back to your accommodation for a relaxing evening.
Day 10: Kigali and flight back home
Early in the morning after your breakfast, check out of your accommodation facility and your drive will take you to the airport in Kigali to catch your flight back home.
