Sectors of Mount Kilimanjaro are into four divisions. You can access this national park using various gates and each side of the park will have an entrance for you to use.
You will have to fulfill all the park entry requirements for you to be allowed into the park. Each sector of the park also has different attractions that you can explore while here.
The Kilimanjaro Mountain is the tallest mountain in Africa and on every side of the park that you are at, be sure to have stunning views of the mountain and the surrounding area.
The Sectors of Mount Kilimanjaro Include: West Kilimanjaro, North Kilimanjaro, East Kilimanjaro, and South Kilimanjaro.
West Kilimanjaro
The Enduimet wildlife management area is another name for Kilimanjaro’s western region. An area of roughly 494 square kilometers is covered by this region.
The Sector is about 140 Kilometers from the Arusha city. The Makoa farm is also located in this sector. The sector is overlooking the Mountain Meru and Amboseli National Park in Kenya.
The Arusha National park is also in the direction of this sector.
North Kilimanjaro
The Rombo district in the Kilimanjaro Region is home to the Northern sector of the Kilimanjaro National Park. The small communities of Tarakea and Usseri are located on the eastern side of this area of the national park.
The Longido Kenya Tanzania border is also located on this side of the Kilimanjaro National park. The nearby district is the Monduli districts.
The sector is about 120 kilometers from the major town of Moshi. There is a wildlife stretch here that allows the movement of wildlife from the Kilimanjaro National Park in Tanzania to the Amboseli National Park in Kenya.
Some of the rivers that flow in this sector are: Kimengelia, Nalemuru, Kikelelwa, Tarakea, Kamwanga and Lolarashi.
East Kilimanjaro
The Momba district in Tanzania’s Songwe region is home to Kilimanjaro’s eastern sector. The Malinga Bee Reserve is located there.
The bee reserve covers an area of about 761,000 Ha. The area is majorly covered by shrubs and trees and grassland vegetation cover. This kind of vegetation facilitates the raring of bees and that why they thrive here.
South Kilimanjaro
The southern sector of the Kilimanjaro is not popular among the hikers and visitors of the Kilimanjaro and it has very little traffic. The southern sector however is home to about four gates of the Kilimanjaro National Park.
The gates in this sector include: Machame gate, Umbwe gate, Mweka gate and Marangu gate which also houses the Park headquarters.
