Four-Striped Grass Mouse – Discover Kilimanjaro’s Unique Rodent

The four-striped mouse, also known as the four-striped grass mouse, is larger than a typical house mouse and is most recognized by its four prominent dark stripes on its back and its greyish-brown fur, which resembles that of a squirrel.

Four-striped mice are omnivores that primarily eat seeds, leftover foliage, and the occasional insect, much like other rodent family members.

These small four-legged animals can be found in the Savannahs below Mount Kilimanjaro and the arid desert areas surrounding the mountain.
