The identity of the man in the green boots has never been revealed but sources say it a one Tsewang Paljor, an Indian climber. He was wearing green boots at the time of his death and thus the name Green boots.

Green Boots’ body can be found in a cave at an altitude of 8,500 meters and it has become one of the landmarks for those who head up the mountain from the northern side.
