Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe Airport
Your safari driver will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport once you arrive and he will drive you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala city where you will spend the night. Rest up for you have an early morning set off to Southwestern Uganda.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Early morning after breakfast, your safari driver will pick you up and you start on your journey to the beautiful Southwestern Uganda. It will be a long drive, so buckle up and enjoy the scenic views of rolling hills, farmlands and countryside towns and villages.
You will have a stop over at the equator line to learn some interesting facts about the 0-degree line another break for lunch and from there it’s a drive straight to your safari lodge in Bwindi.
Check in for a warm dinner and an overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
A beautiful day in Bwindi to go trekking in the impenetrable forest for a chance to see one of the gorilla families that make up the over 400 mountain gorillas that inhabit the ever-green forest. That is more than half of the entire world population of mountain gorillas in the wild.
You will be briefed by the park officials about gorilla trekking then after you will be led into the forest by a ranger guide to go track one of the habituated gorilla families. The activity can take up to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and you will be given an hour to savor the moment with the gorillas.
Take pictures and ask your guides questions about the gorillas, if you have any. Exit the forest and your safari guide will be waiting to drive you back to your safari lodge. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 4: Flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport
You can either drive to Entebbe or take a flight from Kisoro airstrip to Entebbe for your flight to Tanzania or Drive to Kigali airport and catch your flight to Tanzania.
Your tour driver will be waiting to pick you up and take you to your hotel in Moshi. Settle in and rest up for your climb up Kilimanjaro Mountain.
Day 5-10: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro
For the next 6 days, you will spend them on Mt. Kilimanjaro. There are 7 different routes on Kilimanjaro that can take you to the Uhuru peak. Each with varying levels of difficulty, different views, tourist traffic and acclimatization possibilities.
For the 6 days we recommend Machame route or Marangu route (ascends and descends on the same route). Both ascend the mountain from the South.
Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro can be challenging but the feeling once you reach the summit is incomparable. You will pass through different climatic zones, be sure to take time and enjoy your surroundings as you go up the mountain.
On day 10, you will ascend to Mweka gate where your safari driver will be waiting for your to drive you to your hotel in Moshi for a well deserved warm shower, celebrations for your accomplishment and later he will drive you to the airport to catch your flight back home.
