Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Arusha
Your tour guide will pick you up from Kilimanjaro International airport and drive you to Arusha town. Check in at your hotel for the night. Get enough rest and prepare for the great safari adventures ahead. Welcome to Tanzania.
Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After your breakfast in Arusha, you will embark on your journey to Serengeti national park for your first wilderness adventure in this vast park. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, check in and relax a little, in the later afternoon, you will head out for a game drive.
Serengeti has an abundance of wildlife with a rich bird life. You will be able to see lions, elephants, wildebeest, waterbucks, gazelles, eland, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, leopards, hippos, cheetahs, hyenas, bat eared fox among others. Retreat to your lodge for an overnight.
Day 3: Game drive in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area
You will go for an early morning game drive in the central region of Serengeti. Morning game drives are so rewarding as the animals are usually more active in the morning in search for food.
The herbivores up and about grazing and the predators feasting on their night kill or out on a morning hunt. Lots of action to see as you watch the nature unfold in Serengeti at sunrise.
Post your lunch in Serengeti, you will drive towards Ngorongoro conservation area, home of the Ngorongoro crater. For the afternoon, you will explore areas outside of the crater.
Go on a game drive the short grass plains of Ndutu area around Lake Ndutu and also explore the areas around the crater rim. Picturesque landscapes to marvel at as you spot the different wildlife species in Ngorongoro. Check in at your lodge in Ngorongoro area.
Day 4: Game drive in Ngorongoro Crater and drive to Moshi Town
Have a light breakfast and by 6:30am, you will be descending into the unspoiled Ngorongoro crater for a game drive of a life time. This vast caldera is home to over 25,000 animals and over 400 species of birds.
You will spend about 5 hours exploring the floor of the great crater. You will have a chance to spot the big 5 iconic animals, the lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and the endangered black rhino.
Ascned the crater and drive to Arusha town where you will have your lunch and last-minute shopping for anything you might need while on the mountain during your climb, like extra batteries for your camera. Later transfer to Moshi town where you will spend the night.
Day 5-11: Kilimanjaro Mountain Climbing
Time to conquer the great Kilimanjaro Mountain. Spend these 7 days of your 12 days safari climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. For the number of routes on Kilimanjaro that can lead you to the summit, we recommend these routes for this particular trip; Marangu route (the most established with hut accommodations), Machame route (the most popular route) and the Lemosho route, one of the most beautiful routes on the mountain.
Choose one according to your preferences, remember to enjoy the journey as much as your main goal is to reach the summit.
Day 12: Pick up and transfer to Arusha
Your tour driver will meet you at the park offices. After you descend and drive you to Arusha at the hotel. Freshen up, have lunch and continue with your celebrations, after which he will drop you at the airport for your flight.
