Rundugai Village - Cultural Tourism, Travel Guide & More

When you are planning to come to this village, be prepared to get all the uniqueness from the village adventure. The Rundugai Village has several ethnic groups like the Chagga, Pare, Masai, Nyiramba and Kamba people.

You are going to experience how all these people live together with different culture and norms abut yet in a lot of harmony.

Other than culture, there are also other things you can explore like the Kikuletwa hot springs and many other things around the area.

Here are some of the activities you expect to be involved in:

Weaving Group

Among the things you will be doing here is weaving. Many local items are made by the locals using materials found in the area, and you may even purchase souvenirs for our people.

You will be astounded by the vibrant colors of the Masai jewelry, which they wear in large quantities.

Local Midwife

Here, indigenous medicine is still revered by the populace. You will be given a tour of the child delivering procedures in the area.

The community’s midwives will walk you through how they nurse babies and handle discomfort during deliveries.

Numerous infants have been born using this safe procedure. Since the majority of those who go through these midwives are unpaid, they are saving lives through charitable work.

Feel free to donate to them.

Maasai working group

This group will take you through the daily routine of the Masai and guide you through the community. The Masai have the traditional dances, cultural practices like harvesting blood from the cows.

You will also be take to the traditional huts of the Masai called the Bomas.

You can spend a night if you wish. This can be organized by your Kilimanjaro tour operator.

Herbalists

Herbal medicines are a well-known specialty of the Masai people. A portion of the procedure for preparing these herbs will be demonstrated to you. You can even experiment with some of the herbs because they don’t really have any negative effects as modern medicine does.

The leaves, roots, or backs of trees are used to make the herbs. You will hear firsthand accounts from some of the locals about how these herbs have helped them.

The herbs used to treat altitude sickness are the most popular among the natives.

You can also try this out if you are hiking the Kilimanjaro.
