It will take around forty-five minutes by car to reach Gavrilo’s Monkey Paradise from Moshi. It’s situated alongside one of Kilimanjaro’s smaller rivers.
You can leave Moshi between 7am and 8am and head to the Gavrilo’s Monkey Paradise where you will experience monkeys in their free space with a lot of quiet and tranquility.
When you get here, you will take a walk along the river and you will keep interacting with monkeys along the way. There are other primates here like the baboons and very many species of monkeys.
For bird lovers, expect a lot of birds here. There are a few mongoose that you will see on your lucky day.
You will have a chance to explore the nearby village and enjoy local meals prepared by the locals.
Best Time to Visit Kilimanjaro area

It’s possible that you can trek the Kilimanjaro any time throughout the year but some months are covered in cold weather and rains and snow especially the top and yet some are dry and a lot more favorable.
Its best advised to hike the Kilimanjaro is between the months of December to February and Mid June to September. Ideally these are the dry months but even then, sometimes it can and gets a bit messy.
The wet months are March to Mid June and October to November.
