The Ol Donyo Orok Mountain can also be referred to as the Namanga Hill. Its stand at an elevation of about 2,548 meters above sea level. It is neighboring the Mountain Longido which is in a distance of about 22 kilometers.
The hill is in a protected area that covers about 11,860 hectares. It has natural forest reserve and it’s the main water source to the areas around including the Namanga Township.
It’s a very virgin area as is one of the few areas in Kenya that are undisturbed.
The Maasai people basically come to this forest just to collect sticks for their house and contrition poles.

The main trail of the The Ol Donyo Orok is at the entrance of the Namanga River Lodge. It goes through the abandoned properties here as it reached the water pipes that move water from the streams.
When is the Best Time to Visit?
The Ol Donyo Orok Mountain can be visited anytime of the year. It is however advised that you visit this area in the dry month.
The dry season generally comes in two phases which is in the months of December to February and Mid June to September.
The time to avoid would be the wet seasons of March to Mid June and October to November.
